Movie adaptations of books are often harshly scrutinized. While books can take hours upon hours to read, cinema just doesn’t have that luxury. This can mean chunks of the story are omitted. Pick your favorite movie made from a book and let’s discuss how good a job the screen writer, director and actors did in telling us the story.  Each presenter will only be responsible for reading the book they have chosen for their presentation.  Movies will be shown in class followed by discussion. Some recent examples are: Hidden Figures (2016), Little Women (multiple versions), The Joy Luck Club (1993), 12 Years a Slave (2013) and more.
